We also invite you to join us for a NBCRNA panel presentation on Saturday, August 9 at 4 p.m. CT. John C. Preston, Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Gill, Chief Credentialing Officer, Tim Muckle, Chief Assessment Officer, and Garry Brydges, NBCRNA Board President, will provide insights into the MAC Program and longitudinal assessment. We look forward to seeing you all in Nashville!
Maintaining Anesthesia Certification (MAC) Program
Beginning August 1, 2025, CRNAs who are due to renew their credential from June 30, 2026, through December 31, 2027, will be enrolled in a modified version of MAC Check for up to five quarters until their next official renewal date.
Communication has gone out to CRNAs who will be enrolled in this modified version of MAC Check, and the NBCRNA will provide personalized transition details based on individual certification timelines. To view your personalized timeline please log in the portal.
2025 Renewals
Over 23,000 CRNAs are due to renew their CRNA credential in 2025. For many CNRAs, the renewal window is open, and they can log into the NBCRNA portal to begin the application process.
Requirements for certification renewal in the CPC Program include the following:
Completion of the Continued Professional Certification Assessment (CPCA)
This is applicable only to CRNAs in their second four-year CPC Program Cycle.
CRNAs renewing in 2025 are still in the CPC Program, and all requirements of the CPC Program (noted above) must be completed before a CRNA can move into the new MAC Program, which eliminates the required Core Modules and the CPCA.
Important Note: NBCRNA will continue to message CRNAs individually about requirements throughout the transition into the MAC Program. We are asking CRNAs to please make sure their phone number and email address are up to date on the NBCRNA portal to ensure timely communication.
To view your personalized timeline and requirements, please log in to the NBCRNA portal.
