CPCA Updates: Year Round Scheduling and Expedited Results
Building on the positive changes made by the NBCRNA to switch to Pearson OnVUE as the new Continued Professional Certification Assessment (CPCA) live-remote proctoring provider, NBCRNA is happy to announce further enhancements to the CPCA.
Year-Round CPCA Scheduling Now Available
NBCRNA worked with Pearson VUE to make the CPCA available year-round, either in-person at a Pearson VUE center or online through Pearson OnVUE. The CPCA application process remains unchanged - CRNAs can apply for CPCA via the NBCRNA portal, and then schedule the CPCA at the date and time that is most convenient for them.

Expedited CPCA Results
Based on feedback from CRNA community, the NBCRNA has taken the necessary steps to provide CPCA results, both preliminary and official, much earlier than the previous 90-day waiting period.
CRNAs will be provided a preliminary performance report immediately upon completing the CPCA. An official score report will be provided within 1-2 business days, after the assessment has been verified and finalized by the NBCRNA.
As a reminder, the CPCA is not a pass/fail exam. CRNAs who do not meet a set standard score in any of the four core domains will be required to take at least one additional Class A credit focused on identified areas of weakness. The additional credits would be over the minimum 60 Class A credits and 100 total credits requirement and must be taken through an AANA approved Class A CE provider. Performance on the CPCA itself will not affect the CRNA credential upon successfully completing remediation in areas where the performance standard is not met.
