What We Do

The National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) is the nation’s certifying body for the initial, continued and specialty certification of the more than 62,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).

CRNA Certification

Every CRNA in the United States is required to be board certified. Find out more about the certification requirements and process.

Student Exams

To begin your career as a CRNA, students need to take and pass the National Certification Examination (NCE).

Specialty Certification

The NBCRNA also offers a voluntary subspecialty certification for nurse anesthetists in Nonsurgical Pain Management.
