NCE and SEE Testing Exclusive to Pearson Professional Centers
Effective July 1, 2022, the NCE and SEE exam delivery will be restricted to the Pearson VUE, Pearson Professional Centers (PPCs).
Prior to COVID-19 the NBCRNA only administered SEE and NCE exams in Pearson Professional Centers (PPC). Pearson VUE in response to the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily closed the PPCs then reopened with limited seating capacity. Owing to the vital need for clinicians in the workforce, the NBCRNA advocated on behalf of nurse anesthetists and expanded the testing network beyond PPCs. Alternate Pearson VUE testing channels (PVTC and PTC) were utilized to compensate for reduced capacities in the PPCs. Based on customer feedback we understand that the alternate channels have had varying aesthetic and technologic components which decreased customer satisfaction.
The action to limit NCE and SEE delivery to PPCs will not impact examinees who have already scheduled to test in a PVTC or PTC but will be phased-in as new testing appointments are made on or after July 1, 2022. While this will result in a reduction of overall capacity throughout the system, it has become clear that this revert to our pre-COVID testing center utilization is necessary. After careful consideration, these steps are imposed to protect the experience of our candidates, the integrity of the NCE and SEE process and the value of the CRNA credential.
