Nurse Anesthetist Certifying Board Names New Chief Assessment Officer
CHICAGO – June 10, 2021 – Tim Muckle, PhD, has been named Chief Assessment Officer for the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). The NBCRNA welcomes Dr. Muckle’s return to the organization in this new role, having previously served as the NBCRNA Senior Director of Testing from 2008 through 2017—a time of considerable growth and change for the organization. He will assume leadership oversight of NBCRNA’s Testing and Research departments and will begin his new role at the end of June 2021.

His leadership will help NBCRNA to plan, implement and deliver our programs, while remaining a leader in the credentialing community,” said NBCRNA CEO John Preston, DNSc, CRNA, FNAP, APRN. “Tim is highly respected in the credentialing and testing communities for providing sound psychometric leadership and adroitly executing organizational vision. His vast experience and expertise, combined with existing skill and knowledge in testing and credentialing, will enable Tim to immediately contribute to the NBCRNA’s vision and mission as they relate to our assessment and research programs."
Dr. Muckle has published numerous articles in testing-related scientific journals, and has been a regular presenter at meetings of the National Council on Measurement in Education, the Association of Test Publishers, and the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, among others. Prior to returning to the NBCRNA, Dr. Muckle most recently served in the role of Senior Director, Psychometrics and Testing, with the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.
